Number of cars in this list: 201    (40%) Beginning and end of series 1. Camargue Before the Camargue was introduced, four experimentals were produced. Two of them got a chassisnumber. The first production Camargue after these experimentals was the JRH16648. This car is considered to be the first Camargue. 2. Model years 1973 and 1974 In model year 1973 the cars for the American market had a B in the chassisnumber and in 1974 a C. The first Long wheelbase with a C in the chassisnumber is the LRC16758. Model year 1974 started a lot earlier for the Long wheelbase than for the stadard saloon which started on SRC17639. Technical changes 1. Air intakes deleted The Lucas FT8 foglights became standard, except for the US and Canada. The air intakes in the front (ankle freezers) were deleted. The last part of the exhaust didn't point downwards anymore but to the rear. A buzzer was introduced for a forgotten key and for a hot engine. The engine starter relay was changed. All these modifications were introduced on number SRH16214 in July 1973. The first Corniche 2-door saloon with these modifications was the CRH16578, the first Corniche convertible was the DRH16579, the first Long wheelbase was the LRH16736. 2. The straight rubber bumpers. In 1973 the straight rubber bumpers were introduced for cars for the American and Canadian market. This modification was valid from LRB16742 for the Long wheelbase (from SRB16240 for the Silver Shadow 4-door saloon). The bumpers were shock-absorbing. To make this possible the grille was shortened and also made deeper. The licence-plate lighting moved to the boot lid. The starting of the engine was only possible when the safety belts of the front passengers were closed. The rear seats got headrests. The mirrors became electrical operated. The safety belts were provided with a buzzer. 3. Head rests, speed control, etc On chassisnumber DRH16988 several technical changes were carried through on the Corniche models that the 4-door saloon only received on number SRH17518. The Corniche models were provided with rear head rests, speed control, tape player and a box for tapes, and adjustable mirrors. Other models than the Silver Shadow Alongside the Silver Shadow models Rolls-Royce also sold the Phantom VI. The chassisnumbers of the Phantom VI untill 1978 were part of the 4000-series.
