Rolls-Royce Silver Shadow Long Wheelbase
1969, LRX6712, Velvet green
The colourscheme of this striking Long wheelbase is Velvet green with Beige hide in the front, Julian fawn cloth in the rear and Gold fine lines. As a special factory order the car was ordered with "over-size" "C" pillar badges. These badges have the same size as the badge above the boot handle. The car was ordered in Chicago and used by a wealthy family for private chauffeur use. Until 2010 the car had driven a mere 37,000 miles in only good wheather conditions.
The car is provided with hide in the front, cloth in the rear and a division. Unique features for a Silver Shadow Long wheelbase with division include front and rear air conditioning units (2 separate units), front and rear heating and individual radios in both compartments. Each and all can be autonomously controlled. The electrically operated glass division can be activated by the driver via a switch at the dash and independently by rear passengers via a unique burl walnut finished control panel located at the middle of the Julian cloth upholstered partition. Below the panel are left and right side air-conditioning fan speed controls for rear-riding passengers. The rear compartment also has foot rests for each passenger.
