Number of cars in this list: 200    (40%). Beginning and end of series In this series of numbers no begin or end of a model type occur. Technical changes 1. Enlargement of the track. On number SRC18269 an important technical change was introduced. The track was widened to 60 inch (1524 mm) at the front and to 59,6 inch (1513,8 mm) at the rear. The wheel base was lengthened with 6 mm to 3049,6 mm. The 205 radial tyres were enlarged to 235/70HR 15. The body was changed to match these modifications and got flared wheel arches, also known as "eyebrows". These modifications were introduced on the other models on the next numbers: SBC18225 for the Bentley T, LRH19577 for the Long wheelbase without division and 19640 with division, DRH18563 for the Corniche convertible and CRH18564 for the Corniche 2-door saloon. 2. Plastic bulls-eyes. On SRH18270 the plastic bulls-eyes (the round air intakes on the dashboard) were introduced; they replaced the metal bulls-eyes. These changes were introduced on the Long wheelbase on number LRH16685, and on the Corniches on DRH16988. 3. Other changes. Several other technical changes took place, like the Sundym glas becoming standard on number 18340 (except in the UK, W Germany & Australia). Different models In this series of chassisnumbers there is one different model: a Landaulette (SRC18419). This Silver Shadow was modified later by a coachbuilder. Other details of manufacturing 1. The production of chassisnumber 18000 started in February 1974. 2. Long wheelbase. In this series (18000-18500) there is no Long wheelbase. Modelyear 1974 (letter C on the third position of the chassisnumbers of US-cars) started on number 17639. Except for Long wheelbase cars. Between 16815 and 16976 there were already many Long wheelbase cars of modelyear 1974. Then the production of Long wheelbase cars ceased. It was continued on number 18931, some 2000 (!) numbers later. Other models than the Silver Shadow Alongside the Silver Shadow models Rolls-Royce also sold the Phantom VI. The chassisnumbers of the Phantom VI untill 1978 were part of the 4000-series. This 1974 Silver Shadow SRH18272 with the colour Silver Mink is the fourth Silver Shadow with the flared wheel arches and the enlarged track.
