Bentley T

1971, SBH11890, Caribbean blue over dark blue

With this 1971 Bentley T SBH11890 Jan Jaap Kuiper and Dino ten Have (who were alternately driver and navigator) drove the 2008 Tulpenrally for classic cars. Photographs of this rally are included below, on this page. First of all pictures of the Bentley T, taken in 2012.

In May 2008 the 55th edition of the Tulpenrally for classic cars was driven. The Tulpenrally is a trip of more than 2500 kilometres that leads through several countries in Europe. In 2008 the rally started in Annecy (France) and went over the Alps via Aix-les-Bains to Switzerland and continued via Germany to Maastricht in the Netherlands. The last track leaded to the traditional finish in Noordwijk (Netherlands).
Team 204 bought and prepared this Bentley especially for this occasion. En route they got some trouble when the junction between the drive shaft and the wheel broke. The parts could be delivered by carrier and the car could be repaired on the car park in Maastricht. The trip to the finish in Noordwijk could be completed in time.

On the next pictures you can see the car before it was prepared for the rally (October 2007). The Bentley T was delivered new in October 1971 and was imported in the Netherlands in 1998. It had two former Dutch owners.
